Zayn Malikis upset and he isn’t holding anything back.
The 26-year-old singer, who has been on and off with modelGigi Hadidover the past few years, unleashed into an expletive-filled rant on Thursday, just one day after he shared a series of cryptic messages on Twitter.

Many believed that Malik’s last tweet, in particular, may have been about the model, especially after she was spotted out with her longtime friend Samuel Krost last week, but the singer quickly squashed any rumors.
“To any dumb f— out there that wants to make they’re [sic] own stories up” hetweeted.
“My tweet was not about @GiGiHadid so leave her the f— alone she is the most amazing woman I’ve ever known,” he explained, before adding that Hadid “does nothing but love and support me when lord knows I don’t deserve it”
In a final note, Malik wrote, “So if you have anything to say @ me and I’ll put you the f— straight”
He also added: “If you know nothing shut your f— mouth”
“If you outlets are going to continue writing bs headlines every time I’m seen with a friend of the male gender then there’s gunna be a lot of unneeded confusion,” she tweeted.
Reps for Malik and Hadid did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The status of Malik and Hadid’s relationship has been highly-speculated as of late.
Early last month, Malik confused fans of the on-again, off-again couple when hetweeted an affectionate messageto the model. “@GiGiHadid love you,” the singer wrote to Hadid on Twitter.
Though Hadid was active on the social platform following Malik’s tweet she failed to like or respond to it.
Just months after revealing their rekindled romance on social media following abrief split in March 2018,multiple outlets reportedin January that the two had recently ended things again.

The stars — who first started dating in November 2015 — stirred up the first inklings of their split when Malik didn’t sit in the audience of theVictoria’s Secret Fashion Showin November 2018 to cheer on Hadid, as he has done in previous years.
Over the past few months, the pair have not appeared on each other’s social media feeds, and most recently appeared to spend the holidays apart. Malik is also no longer following Hadid on Instagram.
On Dec. 12, the model was noticeably absent from the party that Malik hosted for his new album,Icarus Falls.On the same day, Hadid insteadposted photos to Instagramof herself cuddling up to a horse with the caption, “Preferred house guest,” and made no mention of Malik’s music. Malik also appeared to be a no-show at mutual palTaylor Swift‘s New Year’s Eve party, where Hadiddressed as Mary Poppins.
The last photo of the formerOne Directionmember that appeared on Hadid’s Instagram was from Oct. 21, and while it might seem that the fact Malik doesn’t follow Hadid on the platform at all was a sign, Hadid has addressed that in the past.

Malik alsospoke out about his relationshipwith Hadid for the December issue ofBritish Vogue.
“Everything is great,” he said. “She’s super-organized and I’m really not. It helps that she can get things together for me a little bit. I lean on her a lot.”
In the cover story forGQ’sJuly issue, Malik said that he and Hadiddon’t feel a need to put a “label” on their relationship.
“We’re adults,” he said. “We don’t need to put a label on it, make it something for people’s expectations.”
Explaining how he had a “very negative outlook on things” following the release of his debut solo album,Mind of Mine, Malik said that Hadid “helped me to look at things from a positive angle.”

When Malik and Hadid broke up for the first time in March, they each sharedseparate statementsto their social media accounts.
“Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and friend,” Malik wrote in his statement. “She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time; we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ”
Added Hadid, “Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience over a few years … not only in the relationship, but in life in general. I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will be. xG”
