Although the singer, 34, didn’t walk the carpet, she delivered two distinct style moments on stage.
During the awards ceremony, the musician sang her Grammy-nominated hits “Snooze” and “Kill Bill” from her two-time nominated albumSOS.
After an intro about the meaning behind her No. 1 LP, the Top Dawg Entertainment singer hit the stage in a leather trench coat, a black sleeveless top, cargo pants and a wide-brim hat as she sang for the crowd at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
After herliteral fire performance, she went backstage to quickly slip into a high-neck Do Long dress with bejeweled accents, which almost made her late in accepting her award for best R&B song. As presenterLizzoannounced “Snooze” the winner, the audience was left waiting before SZA rushed onto the stage to accept her trophy.“Sorry I’m out of breath because I was changing then I took a shot and I ran here,” she said as she ran on stage.
She also took to Instagram to shareyet another lookfrom her night — a dramatic black velvet gown with a structured embellished neckline and long train — which she styled with sheer gloves.“Thank you to@recordingacademyfor having me and for allowing me the insane honor to be apart of tonight’s show 🥹,” she captioned the image.

The success of SZA’s 21-track sophomore album,SOS, earned hernine nods, including album, record and song of the year, making her the most-nominated artist of the night. In addition to taking home a win for the R&B category, the singer and Phoebe Bridgers scored another award for their song, “Ghost in the Machine.”
Ahead of the record’s release in December 2022 (the same year shewon her first GrammyalongsideDoja Cat), SZA opened up to PEOPLE aboutits storytelling, sharing: “The sound is a little bit ofliterallyeverything. It’s a little angry as an overview, but some of it is really beautiful and soft and heartfelt. It’s about heartbreak, it’s about being lost, it’s about being pissed.”
A year later, after promoting the release on the road on her first-ever arena tour, the “Snooze” hitmaker celebrated thealbum’s anniversaryon Instagram, calling it a body of work “that is ACTIVELY CHANGING MY LIFE.”

Even though the singer-songwriter is still relishing in the success ofSOS, she’s also begun teasing her next project,Lana. Shortly after making her anniversary post on Instagram, SZA shared six variations of album artwork for the upcoming, undated release.
The star first announcedLanaat a special Brooklyn concert in September, explaining to the audience at the time that she hadplans to release a deluxe version ofSOSwith upwards of seven to 10 new songs.
