Hours before fatallyshooting her three young daughters and herselflast Monday, authorities say a Michigan mom used a phony doctor’s note to get the girls out of school.
According to multiple reports, the mother, 28-year-old Aubrianne Moore, drove to the children’s school in the middle of the day to pick them up.
Police say Moore took the girls to lunch on Feb. 18 before driving them to a wooded area, where she used her boyfriend’s bolt-action hunting-style rifle to murder them.
According to WOOD, Moore then loaded the girls’ bodies into her car and drove to the boyfriend’s Grand Rapids home, where she used the same gun to fatally shot herself outside the vehicle.
A Social Worker’s Warning
In September, a social worker declared Moore a danger to herself and hospitalized for more than a week, the station reports.
“Aubrianne is keeping her kids home from school because the television told her there would be a school bus accident today,” the social worker wrote, according to WYFF. “Aubrianne stays awake at night believing people will break into her home. Aubrianne is not eating believing food is being poisoned.”
The social worker continued: “I believe the individual has mental illness and as a result of that mental illness the individual can reasonably be expected within the near future to intentionally or unintentionally seriously physically injure self or others.”
Kyrie, a third grader, “loved to read, always volunteered to help others, her classmates loved her, and she was a good friend,” her teacher, Mrs. Schnepp, said in the letter.

“They were awesome kids, absolutely great. The oldest excelled in reading like no other. The youngest one, she was just so joyful and so happy all the time. And then the middle child, she was just rambunctious and wild and always put a smile on everybody’s face,”their cousin Alyssa Rau told WOOD last week.
A GoFundMe pagewas been established to help cover the costs of the little girls’ funerals.
