This is how it go on Twitter . Somebody tweets a hashtag that other masses vehemently discord with , and those people chime in to blab out about how stupid it is , accelerating that hashtag — and its substance — up Twitter ’s curve topics . Today ’s representative ? Obamacare .
If you ’re proud of Obamacare and tired of the other side using it as a unsporting word , fill in this sentence:#ILikeObamacarebecause …
— Barack Obama ( @BarackObama)March 23 , 2012

Barack Obama transmit out this tweet ( see update below ) boost his friend to take back the condition Obamacare . One hour by and by , the # ILikeObamacare hashtag was the number one Twitter trend for the USA , beating out a zillion and a half angsty Hunger Games tweets and , God help me , National Puppy Day . I mean , National Puppy Day ! ! !
Clearly , 2008 was no fluke and Obama still has Internet chop shot . But the affair is , that hashtag was largely driven to the top by tweets like this one , from people sound off about Romneycare Obamacare :

It ’s a elementary moral people . If you do n’t care the message in a hashtag , do n’t use it . Otherwise you ’re just playing into someone else ’s secret plan . Here ’s a brief litany of stupefied .
UPDATE : That original @BarackObama substance was send out both as an constitutional tweet that would show up in his following ’ timeline and as aPromoted Tweet(see the screenshot below ) that could show up in the timeline of people who did not accompany him or had not interpret the tweet naturally . Basically this is Twitter ’s version of apaid political ad . ( Confusing ! But I confirmed with a Twitter representative that this is how the outgrowth works . )
So , if you saw the message in your timeline because you follow Obama , or because you follow someone who retweeted him , it would appear ordinarily , as an organic tweet . But , under some circumstances it was ante up location . To make thing even more confusing , the trending itself was not further ; that happened all on its own . But the tweet itself was . Which have in mind that regardless of why you clicked on the hashtag , the first thing you see when you click is President Obama ’s tweet , not the sulfuric acid . It ’s an almost dizzying example of how complex messaging is going to be this season .
