Per TechCrunch , the plan “ Dunant ” cable ( named after Red Cross founding father Henry Dunant ) will make landfall in France after crossing nearly 4,000 mile of ocean story and “ connect Google ’s North Virginia region instantly to its Belgium region . ” It ’s expected to be operational by late 2020 .
