Fox ’s Head of Marvel Movies , Mark Millar , has announce that the X - Men motion picture and the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot will in fact portion out the same cinematic universe . Now , he ’s quick to indicate out that there are no actual crossovers be after … so what does this actually intend ?
uproariously , not much . claim that Fantastic Four and X - Men share the same universe without them actually share the same cover is essentially meaningless . Millar might as well claim that Fox ’s Marvel - verse is the same as the Avengers creation , and Kick - Ass , and Indiana Jones , and then How to school Your Dragon , because it ’s never going to be put to a test ( Note : We at io9 vote for My Little Pony , because we really want to see the X - Men ride them into struggle ) .
I keep take in ' news ' that decade - Men & FF movies are crossing over . No , they ’re not . They exist in same universe but movies stand alone .

That said , Fox would be pretty jerky if they did n’t have Wolverine or somebody digress by the Fantastic Four movie as a cameo ; Millar ’s claim to the contrary , I ’d say that — or maybe a quick Skype call from Professor X to Reed Richards or something — is pretty probable . But what does a shared universe that consist of only the Fantastic Four and the X - Men really mean ? Sure , they ’ve crossed paths a few multiplication , but they ’re just on each other ’s speed - dial . Would it only make their cinematic cosmos feel emptier in comparison to the Avengers - verse line ? Or is follow in Marvel ’s movie - rhyme ’s step the right way to go ? clip will secern , presumptively .
