Yesterday ’s Eureka panel promised an enliven Christmas special , a big mission into deep space , sinister force-out plotting against the town , and a sexual love triangle between Fargo , Felicia Day , and a hugely dickish Wil Wheaton .
The most intriguing revelation of the Eureka panel was that the show is making an animated Christmas sequence . The basic premise is that a scientist does something stupid enough to turn everyone into reanimate variation of themselves . The episode will sport tons of different animation styles , although the control board monish it wo n’t be altogether animated , but alternatively feature animated elements . I ’m not whole sure what that have in mind , but I ’m excited – and , if nothing else , this now means Eureka and Community have at least one affair in common .
Until then , the stress of season 4.5 build on what ’s already been show in the first two episodes : Eureka has modernise a fast - than - light effort , and the Astreus Mission has been sic up to post cosmonaut to Saturn ’s moon Titan . Those astronauts will fare from Eureka , setting up a ton of competition over who gets to go on the mission and who has to continue behind . Executive producer Jaime Paglia tell us that , for various reasons , time of year three had gotten too occasional for his liking , and both theatrical role of time of year four were attempts to get back to more serialized storytelling .

At the board , Paglia explained that he was unbelievably nervous about sending such an earthbound show into outer space , but he was gain ground over by what it would mean for the townsfolk : this would be a dream for so many who lived there , and he singled out Fargo as someone who would particularly want to go into space . ( Or come back there , considering the issue of the time of year premiere . ) Paglia also excuse that the thought of doing a “ openhanded missionary station ” or else of having the characters face a “ enceinte bad ” appealed to him – though he hinted we ’d be seeing some of that too , what with the return of Beverly Barlowe .
Speaking of which , Salli Richardson - Whitfield explained to us that the foreign mastermind implant Barlowe placed in Allison ’s head at the end of the most late episode will make her act drastically out of lineament , giving her a hazard to do some crazy things that we normally never see out of the reserved , restrained Allison . Richardson - Whitfield also babble out about her on - screen Word Kevin , praise Trevor Jackson ’s performance and enjoin he will fulfill the teenage presence on the show that was vacate with the departure of Carter ’s daughter Zoe . That say , Zoe herself will return in the 5th installment “ Omega Girls ” , which feature a sinister plan hatched by outsiders against the town . Guest genius Wil Wheaton , who fall for seven instalment this time of year as Dr. Parrish , called this one an “ important , pivotal episode ” and explain it kick back off a lot of the larger stuff happening this time of year .
As for the show ’s other big guest star , Felicia Day explained that with Dr. Holly Marten she feel like she was “ being given the most beautiful natural endowment tied up with a bow ” because of all the different aspects of the grapheme she could dig into . One bounteous part of her narration will be the love triangle that develops between Fargo , Holly , and Dr. Parrish – something that Wil Wheaton told us comes not just because he think Holly is sassy and beautiful but because if he wins her affections , then Fargo loses , and he ’s drive by an intense need to piss Fargo off .

Looking further ahead , Paglia told us that they are currently forge on the season five finale ( which , if you sum up all the bifurcate time of year , is really more like the season seven conclusion ) , which will air next year . We take him about a pick - up for another time of year – which would presumptively air in 2013 – and he tell nothing is official yet , but all augury direct to the show getting renewed again .
He also made it clear that the original timeline is decidedly gone for beneficial – in fact , he credited the newfangled timeline with breaking them out of the old formula and basically lay aside the show – but the current season will proceed to search the subtler aspect of the novel timeline . And , as for the other big return people keep asking about , Paglia said to never say never , but there are no contiguous plans to bring back Ed Quinn as Nathan Stark .
