Helgason ’s comment came during his keynote presentation at Develop , where he was challenged with the averment that Jobs thinks middleware makes for “ stinky ” game . The response :

“ He does n’t infer the economic science of game developing fundamentally , ” says Helgason , say that while virginal native code growth might suit simpler apps , it ’s simply not an option for many game developers .
He also said that the popularity of iPhone game develop using Unity show that middleware is n’t responsible for for produce “ lousy ” games , as has been hint .
This has beenan on-going spat between developers and Apple , and it ’s likely not one that will end anytime before long . Because while it ’s likely that Jobsisn’t a gamer , it might be endure too far to say he does n’t get game growth economic science . clean or not , Apple ’s shown a distinct taste for — and had plenty of financial winner with — this kind of closed organization approach . And the only economics Steve Jobs is touch on about , rightly so , is Apple ’s . [ Mobile - Ent ]
