We ’re not entirely certain . We ’re not even indisputable if we be intimate why Rogue One is call Rogue One . Does anyone ?

She also has a rogue streak ; a trace of the Han Solos in her drive to do what ’s right , regardless of how much shit she has to waste up en road . “ It ’s kind of key her as well in a similar way , ” allege Edwards . “ It has [ all ] these split , multiple meanings that made it find like the correct choice . ”
Does the title also , perhaps , apply to Edwards himself ? “ I do n’t recognise … ” he demur , “ I never see myself that mode . But , er … that ’d be cool ! We test to do things different , for certain . ”

When the namewas first annunciate , Star Wars fans ’ hearts were all aflutter — for sure it was a reference to Rogue Leader , the fighter archetype loss leader of the Rogue Squadron , created by Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles!Maybe we ’d be getting some kickass ten - Wing pilot program on make bold deputation for the Alliance ! When more point about the picture ’s story reveal that was n’t the pillow slip , the name suddenly lost a lot of meaning for hoi polloi without the context of use of having seen the movie .
Original book author and die - hard Star Wars fan Gary Whittagave Rogue One its name , so possibly it was just a nod to the buff favorite Rogues of Rogue Squadron from him . perchance in some twisty , turny take on the new Star Wars canon , someone other than Luke and Wedge founds Rogue Squadron at the death of the movie ( and then they do n’t show up at Yavin but are around for the Battle of Hoth , which would be unearthly ! ) . Maybe whatever or whoever ‘ Rogue One ’ is , it ’s something we ’ll see in the movie , hence Edward ’s long , wander non - answer to Empire above .
Maybe the Rogue One was inside of us all along . Who knows ?
