David Lynch’sYouTube channel is a grace . A place for the famed surrealist director toindulgehis esthetic habitsin small , bite - sized slice of life updates likedaily atmospheric condition reports and update on his woodworking , its emergence in 2020 hasbeen one of the few comforting , static things I ’ve found myself reelect to .
But sometimes , hedoes indulgehis dreamlike sidein a satisfying agency . Such is the vitrine with“I HAVE A RADIO ” , his latest video , a medicine TV ( ? ) of sorts forhis 2011 song “ I Have a Radio . ” Lynch ’s euphony is odd , impressionisticstuff , but pretty engage on its own merits — the hombre definitely has an pinna forsound , though it ’s not on the dot what one would call easy listening . In thisvideo , Lynch gives that song a mistily horrible but also sort of … cute?Backdrop that you should probably just mark out for yourself .
What are thosethings ? They front like puppet cowboys made out of the static of an ultrasound , both kitschy and utterly dreadful . It ’s a dewy-eyed TV , with a weird inkblot inthe midsection , some background knowledge texture , and our terpsichore ultrasound monsterfriends , but it effectively reach a temper . What mood , I ’m not entirely indisputable , but it unsettles me enough that I ’m comfortable slot it into horrorcontent . After watching it , though , I ’m not all frightened . I also feel a littlelighter .
