Lost ’s Sun and Jin have been through so much . Sun think Jin was dead , and then they were split for years . Now , at last , are their battle over ? Not so much , judging from our single consultation with Daniel Dae Kim .
We spoke with Kim on the phone the other day , and we verbalise about Sun and Jin ’s romance , and what ’s next for them . Kim would n’t get into any serious spoiler for the show ’s remaining instalment , but he was n’t above dropping a few clue . So if vague hints overturn you , you should jump off now .
So it seems like the theme of the show , at last , has been unveiled as the power of love . So will Sun and Jin ’s love turn over out to be important in how thing throw off out ? Kim reply :
I feel like their sexual love has been prove every time of year , and this time of year will no exclusion . I mean that it may be tested more this season than it ever has .
So does that trial run of their making love have some bearing on whether either Sun or Jin gets to be the deliver the goods nominee ? Kim says :
I reckon that will have an effect , yes .
We also had to involve Kim if he was bilk with how quick Sun and Jin were reunite in the most late episode — after years of legal separation , their reunification felt like it was just tacked on at the end of an instalment about a raft of other clobber . Kim responds :
I was surprised that it was n’t given more space . At the same time it did n’t take away from the encroachment that it had on each of our grapheme . Whether it happened in an hour ’s Charles Frederick Worth of time , or in 20 second gear , for Sun and Jin , it meant the world .
Kim also says he found it interesting to bring the more controlling , overstrung version of Jin in the first season and a one-half of the show , but he was glad to see his character spring up and progress , as the dynamic changed . “ It ’s not how you begin , it ’s how you finish that ’s important , ” he says . The original Sun / Jin dynamic was n’t how he really require to see their characters interact , so he was happy to see their relationship develop and change over the course of the show .
And now , of track , we ’ve cause to see an even sexy side of Jin in the “ jiffy sideways ” universe , where he and Sun are lovers on the tally . Says Kim :
That ’s the enceinte affair about this show : just when you think you have a handgrip on who you are , you get another dimension — in this case literally . Sawyer gets to be a cop , where in the past times he was a convict , and now Jin scram to play a lover , and that was very unexpected .
in the end , we were dying to have it away when Badass Jin was coming back , because it ’s been a while . Responds Kim :
That ’s a really good question . I care being Badass Jin . There ’s something about the physicality that really activates me as an player , and convey a different element to Jin . I ’ve really enjoyed playing that .
But he ca n’t say if Badass Jin will add up back before the show goes away forever .
