Germain Lussier , io9 : How has the pandemic impacted your industriousness ?

Tom Whalen : In a broad sense , I feel that fellow bill sticker creative person who rely more heavily on gig placard and picture show studio apartment work have been polish off the hardest . I have design a few new screenprints during the pandemic , but the bulk of my recent work has been corporate job . Some of the great company that I cultivate for have continued with their originative plans that were in move before everything went down . io9 : With so much serious in the world , I know my occupation feel a little otiose . As an artist , how do you feel about what your job means now ?

Whalen : Yeah , I definitely have had those thoughts and feelings . They hit me somewhat hard in March when everything seemed so helter-skelter . But then I maintain seeing folks responding to fresh workplace with ebullience and I realized that I am credibly ply a misdirection from veridical - domain events . And I bang how much I need those misdirection right now .

io9 : How has popular culture help you in this fourth dimension and have you realise it help others , maybe through your art ?

Whalen : Artists in the posting community have always been incredibly ego - driven and innovative . I think that approach is immeasurably valuable right now and I would n’t be surprised to see that continue to wave as we pilot these insane times .
