Maybe it ’s because I ’m indecisive and greedy . perhaps it ’s because I like seeing evil adaptation of my heroes with goatees and grimaces . Whatever the reason , I ca n’t traverse it : I love parallel earths .
Coming from the strip background that I do , the first exposure I had to twin earths was probably DC ’s Earth-1 , Earth-2 and so on ; different version of the same planet that existed at “ different vibrational frequencies ” to each other , and had unlike versions of the same characters ( On Earth-2 , Superman is old – and has a unlike “ S ” on his chest ! It blew my little childhood psyche ) , but it was n’t until Star Trek ’s “ Mirror , Mirror ” installment that I completely fell in making love with the conception of there being multiple edition of the same character in worlds just slightly unlike from our own .
It ’s hard for me to explain just why the idea appeals to me so much ( Or why I was so thrilled to discover thatSchrödinger ’s catwas , in fact , not the invention ofPeter Milligan ) . Maybe it ’s really is that I ’m indecisive , and love the idea that any decisiveness anyone make can be made otherwise by the same person on another Earth somewhere , or perhaps it ’s just the basic thrill of seeing the road less traveled becoming a little less “ less traveled ” . all the same , it stay on one of my favorite SF idea , and an easy path to short-circuit my vital faculties ( Clone Wars writers , take notation ) . After all , who could n’t get laid a multiverse full of possibilities ?
