IKEA ’s head of sustainability reckons that western consumer are at the point of accumulation in terms of hooey they can actually bribe , a situation he ’s referred to as “ peak abode furnishings . ”
speak at a conference organized by The Guardian , Steve Howard from IKEAexplained :
“ If we attend on a global basis , in the west we have probably hit peak stuff . We talk about summit oil . I ’d say we ’ve hit peak red nitty-gritty , peak lettuce , tip hooey … peak domicile furnishings . ”

That ’s not to say that he sees IKEA trade less , add up that “ on a ball-shaped base , most multitude are still poor and most people actually have n’t got to adequacy yet . There is a global growth opportunity … but it ’s a dispersion government issue . ”
In fact , the Guardian reports that IKEA plans to almost double its sales by 2o20 . But it might mean that sales in the West plateau . Perhaps it ’ll make money fromhacking existing productsrather than trade fresh ones ?
