Today I spend the twenty-four hour period in Solvang , CA to lionize Lourdes ’ birthday . She is a pricey Quaker and I was be after to take her to a serene place to have a nice metre . Solvang ( Danish for “ sunny athletic field ” ) is Danish urban center near Santa Barbara . it is not the kind of place to spend more than one day if you ca n’t stand calm … . The whole urban center is build up like a Danish small town . It is a little piece of Denmark in northern California .
I witness that decorative objet d’art hanging straight up from a building and I told my Quaker Lourdes that if I could I would had gotten that crown to put up on her head , once that is not happening I ’ll impress this photo and give it to her , and hopefully she ’ll palpate like a poove anyway !

I was hang outdoors with my camera looking for ideas when I check the gizmodo site for the next exposure challenge . I keep calculate for subjects but the buildings around were barely two stories high and the trees were intemperately populated with leaves . Ultimately when I was return , I attain to where I had park my car only to look above and find out an electric magnetic pole , a wire , a loom giant of a Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and of course of instruction , above everything else , the Sun . Although you specifically direct not to pullulate at noon and into the Sun , that s precisely what I seemed to have done . 😀 Hence , I ’ve had to pick off it a little in Lightroom to recover some point from the shadows .

Strange Geometry
We moved into our apartment around six months ago , and ever since stepping base in the space , I ’ve been fascinated by the geometry of the buildings surrounding our modest terrace . Every meter I ’m out back , I regain myself gazing upwardly . I ’ve meant to shoot the scene for calendar month ; but it took this competition to finally give me the nudge I want .
We ’ve had a showery weekend in DC , so the first part of my proficiency required wait until the rainfall slowed enough to not overcharge my camera . I frivol away this using a Canon 5D Mark iii , Zeiss ZE 21 mm f/2.8 , and a tripod . The shot itself was at ISO 1000 , f/5.0 , with a 0.8 second exposure .

I was camping this weekend and set up my tv camera on my tripod at the base of a nearby tree . Dialed in the tv camera setting and attached my shutter release and let it take 30 second exposures for about an hour . 97 look-alike later and post processing , this was the outcome .

Fireworks of Glass
This retiring Friday we took our kids to the Indianapolis Children ’s Museum . It is the humans ’s big shaver ’s museum with so much for them to do and research . One of the fixtures of the museum is a show called Fireworks of Glass by Dale Chihuly . The 43′ exhibit can be find out from anywhere in the museum but the sound berth is from the bottom level . From there you may stareup at the piece is it is lit from above by the raw sunlight coming through the skylights at the top of the museum . It ’s even more amazing when you sit on the round lounge that spins on a turntable . From there you may run back and look up to the piece from many different slant as the lounge slowly plow around .
I took this shot by placing my camera on the centre of attention column of the sofa directly below the exhibit . I initially convey a few pictures with a faster shutter swiftness but I found that I got a great picture by slow the shutter speed down . I strain different timing all the way out to 13 second but have chosen the best one from the serial .

This photo was taken inside the Texas State Capitol building in Austin , TX . It ’s a 3 photo HDR taken handheld so I needed to bump up the ISO and keep the aperture wide . I was kneeling on the floor trying not to shake as I looked straight up to take the bracketed shots .
Taken with a D7000 and 18 - 105 mm lens @ 18 mm , f/3.5 , ISO 800 . Shutter f number were 1/200 sec , 1/50 sec , 1/13 sec . blend to HDR in Photoshop CC .

The fib for the jibe was that an spontaneous rule for most landscape painting photography is to avoid the public-service corporation poles , so for this one I decided to apply one as a subject .
