Of the 239 Republicans in the US House of Representatives , only 107 added their figure toa letterreleased this forenoon put up FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’splan to vacate final neutrality linguistic rule .
If we can figure out the names of the 107 GOP lawmakers who sign on the letter , then we can see out who the 132 are who didn’t — and ask them why .
Perhaps the mysterious 132 are interest about therecent studythat show up an overpowering majority of Republican voters are n’t in favour of Pai ’s marriage offer . Maybe they ’ve do to see that revoke the net neutrality rule would give ISPs vast mogul while stripping the Union politics ’s ability to prevent the censoring and discrimination of online Service . Maybe they were just out for coffee .

We may never know .
The matter is , many of the signatures are totally illegible . About 20 representatives let in their state and congressional territorial dominion next to their names , but that seems to have fall out of practice by the top of the 2nd page . And while many of these John Hancocks are clear , some of them front like they were compose by someone with a playpen in their mouth .
The letter , which calls Pai ’s architectural plan a “ major footprint forward in the effort to remove the way for the solid investment necessary to advance our Internet computer architecture for the next generation , ” was co - authored by House Energy Committee Chairman Greg Walden and Technology and Communications subcommittee chairwoman Rep. Marsha Blackburn . Reached on her cellphone , a spokesperson for Blackburn said she would forward Gizmodo a list of the names . But several hours run by and we just assume that was n’t happening .

Here ’s a list of the lawmaker we have it off for certain signal the letter . ( We excluded a few we ’re only 99 percentage certain about . ) Further down , we ’ve collect a sample distribution of some of the worst scribbles Congress ’ blue bedroom has to offer up . If you recognize your representative ’s signature tune , allow us know who they are — and what you think about their support for Pai ’s programme .

The FCC voter turnout to repeal the net disinterest rule will take place tomorrow after 10:30am ET when the commission convene for an open meeting . Without a significant objection from Republican lawmakers , the order will belike pass . We expect a sight of lawsuits to follow and alegal struggle that will debase on well past the 2018 midterms .
If you live in a Republican district and do n’t see your representative ’s name here ( or ca n’t decrypt it from one of the touch above ) you should probably call them and ask where they stand on the number — that is , if final disinterest is the sort of thing that ’s likely tosway your vote .
Updates : According to@rin97on Twitter , the third key signature from the bottom is Dave Trott ( MI-11 ) . I do n’t have a go at it why I thought that was a “ J ” .
